ENJOY A SELF-GUIDED TOUR OF NE GEORGIA We've started the Heritage Art Loop in Athens, but you can jump in at any point on the map and get to know us here in Northeast Georgia. If you haven't been to Athens in a while, you'll be amazed at how cool & funky it is. Stop by the Welcome Center (#1 on the map) and let them tell you about all the restaurants and shops downtown. Mighty FINE! The Lyndon House #4 is just a short walk from the Welcome Center. Masada Leather #2 is closer to UGA. Take your vehicle and drive out to Terrapin Brewery #7 and be sure to see what's rockin' as you head up to Comer. Chances are you'll see Tina McCullough #8 throwing pots or glazing. Have a bite to eat at Cup of Karma Cafe #9. On your way to Lexington, don't miss Christie Moody's Blue Heron Glass Art Studio #10. The Hummingbird House Bed & Breakfast #12 in Lexington is very near Goodness Grows, the gardener's paradise, #11. You'll enjoy the Southern Hospitality at both of these venues. Don't miss Union Point's Point of Art Gallery #13. Artist Anne Jenkins and her husband, Lee Nelson, are great fun to talk to. And the artists Anne represents in her Gallery are fabulous. Only a few miles west on Rt 44, you'll find many handcrafted gifts for your friends and yourself at Genuine Georgia #15 and art at the Hampton Art Gallery (formerly the Pecan Orchard Art Gallery) #17. Take a look at the workshop schedules at FirstHand Studios #14 and the Historic Mill Studio #16. After all of these Georgia Made Georgia Grown stops, you'll be inspired to hone your own skills! Watkinsville's artscentric shops and delicious restaurants are clustered within walking distance of each other, with the Ashford Manor Inn #22 almost equidistant from one end to the other. Don't miss any of them... starting with Chappelle Gallery/Georgia Originals #26 to the right, Krimson Kafe #25 with their breakfast & lunch counter service, Maison Bleu's upscale dining for lunch and dinner #23 in Town Center, the Lacys' Cherokee Connections #21 and Delores Schofill's Circa Antiques and Art #20 shops downtown.
